do表強調用法要點與考點訓練

一、先看一道考題

有這樣一道考題，從表面上看很像是考查非謂語動詞，但事實上是考查強調用法：

If you have a job, ______ yourself to it and finally you’ll succeed.

A. do devote             B. don’t devote          C. devoting               D. not devoting

從句意上看，表示否定意義的 B 和 D 比較容易排除。至于A和C，許多同學拿不準該選哪一個，有的誤認為是考查非謂語動詞的用法，從而誤選了C。其實此題答案為A。根據句首的條件狀語從句If you have a job（如果你有一份工作的話）可知，空格后面實質上是句子的主句，所以不能填C和D這樣的非謂語動詞（否則主句便沒有謂語）；另外從句意上看，don’t devote…與其后you’ll succeed（你會成功）相矛盾，故B也可排除。在do devote…中，do起強調作用，用于加強語氣，意為“務必”。

二、do表強調的用法歸納

1. 用于強調陳述

She does like dogs. 她真的喜歡狗。

I did turn the gas off. 我確實把煤氣關掉了。

I do think you are right. 我的確認為你是對的。

She does feel that way. 她確實有那種感覺。

I thought I’d pass the exam, and I did pass. 我曾想我考試會及格的，我也真的及格了。

2. 表示委婉或客氣

Do sit down. 請坐，請坐。

Do try this fish. 請嘗嘗這魚。

Do have another cup of coffee. 請再喝杯咖啡吧。

3. 表示強調的請求

Do come with us. 請一定要和我們一起去。

Please! Do be quiet a moment! 求求你們! 安靜一會兒!

4. 表示不耐煩

Do stop talking! 別說啦!

Do speak quietly, can’t you? 說話沉穩些，行不行？

5. 表示提醒或警告

Do stay in bed for a couple of days. 務必臥床休息幾天。

Do put that down, or else I’ll smack you. 快把它放下來，不然我會揍你。

Do be careful. This floor is quite slippery. 務必小心一點。這個地板是滑的。

6. 希望說服對方

Do come to the party tonight. 今晚務請來參加晚會。

Do help me with this maths problem. 務請幫我解答這道數學題。

7. 表示驚奇或意外

Believe it or not, he did won first prize. 信不信由你，他的確是獲得了一等獎。

Strange to say, he did pass his exam after all. 說也奇怪，考試他竟然通過了。

8. 表示希望或愿望

I do hope you’ll stay for lunch. 我的確希望你留下吃午飯。

I do hope you’ll get better soon. 我真希望你早日康復。

I do wish you wouldn’t keep interrupting me! 希望你別老來打擾我!

9. 表示對比

He did come but soon went back. 他是來了，但很快就回去了。

She thinks I don’t love her, but I do love her. 她認為我不愛她, 可是我真的愛她。

My parents think I didn’t study for my exams, but I did study. 我爸爸媽媽認為我考試前沒有復習，但我是復習了。
