66. it 用作形式賓語一例

【教材原句】

I still find it hard to make good friends with them. (p.7)

譯文：我還是很難跟他們成為好朋友。

【用法說明】

在上面的句子中，it 為形式賓語，其后的不定式為真正的賓語。

一般說來，當不定式、動名詞、從句等用作賓語且其后跟有賓語補足語時，就應在賓語補足語前使用形式賓語，而將真正的賓語移至句末。所以 it 用作形式賓語的基本句型是：

動詞+形式賓語+賓語補足語+真正的賓語。如：

I think it is convenient to come at two. 我認為兩點鐘來較適合。

Even now I find it hard to believe her story. 即使現在我發現仍相信她的話。

I find it difficult to talk to you. 我覺得同你談話很難。

I thought it strange that she hadn’t written. 她沒有寫信，我感到奇怪。

George made it clear what he wanted. 喬治說得很明白他要什么。

He considered it his duty to go to the front. 他認為上前線是他的責任。

【用法補充】

make friends with 與……交朋友（其中的 friends 必須要用復數）。如：

He makes friends easily. 他很容易與人交上朋友。

He’s made friends with her. 他已跟她交上朋友了。

The boy has made friends with the dog. 小男孩已與狗建立了感情。

另外還有以下類似短語：

be friends with sb 與某人友好。如：

Mary is friends with Bill. 瑪麗與比爾要好。

He is great friends with the boss. 他與老板很要好。

keep friends (with sb) (與某人)保持友好關系。如：

I think we should keep friends (with her). 我想我們應該(與她)保持友好關系。
